A huge thank you to our new Friendship Garden sponsors, Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontic Specialists just down the road on Iberia Place! Their sponsorship gift of $450 for the 2014-2015 academic year will go a long way towards purchasing new plants and gardening supplies. The picture above shows Doctors Eitzen and Amodeo presenting the check to Sofia and Amalia Benito, daughters of Turtleback Education Foundation Vice President Genni Myles.

Here’s what they had to say:

We’re so excited about our new partnership with Turtleback Elementary School. This academic year, we’re the sponsors of the Friendship Garden and our donation will be used to help provide seeds and soil. We can’t wait to see the vegetables and plants sprouting, let alone the smiles of the kids as they work hands on in the garden. We hope to promote that healthy eating and lifestyle supports healthy teeth, and we kicked off this concept with visits by our staff to the kindergarten classes. Kids learned about proper dental care and first dental visits. Our outreach to local schools is growing, so please do not hesitate to talk to us about getting involved with yours!
